The island eats well away from the resort buffets: tacos al pastor off the trompo, cochinita pibil, tikinxic fish grilled on the beach. These are the best food tours in Cozumel, most of them walking San Miguel with a local, so you know what each one feeds you and what it costs before you set out hungry.

“Adrian, our guide, was very knowledgeable about the history of the traditions, the island, and the food itself. Getting to prepare the food ourselves made it very memorable and now I have a little knowledge of Mexican cooking. The fish, the ceviche, everything was delicious. And the surprise dessert along with its back story was a wonderful treat at the end! Wish we had more time to spend on the beach and in the hammocks, but felt like we were holding up the staff by sticking around. All in all, this a great tour if you love learning about culture and history, and if you love trying new foods!”

“Lot of space on the Katamaran. The snorkel Stop was Not Worth it as the Reef is already massively distroyed. In addition you were forced To swim in a huge group of people constantly kicking each other. Not Option To Just explore on your own. also swim wests we're mandatory even If you are a Solid swimmer. Guides constantly freaking Out of your were a Meter away. cannot recommend that Part of the Tour. But the Stop at the sandbank was very nice and we saw stingrays.”

“Let me say that the staff at Kuza was very nice but that's pretty much the only positive for me. Taxi rides to and from the park were very expensive. Pretty much predatory and there is absolutely no mention of that cost when booking the excursion. Just FYI it cost $65 for 2 adults and 3 kids one way. We were told we could negotiate but once they know you have reservations, you're at their mercy. When we arrived at Kuza, we were taken back to the beach and told that our Mexican flavors class was at 9:15am and then another staff member told us 9:30. We arrived around 9:20…”

“Beautiful snorkeling spots, attentive staff made for a memorable experience. David (dive master) and Gerry (captain and chef), guided us to three different snorkeling sites where we saw plenty of coral and fish, as well as fighting spiny lobsters, a nurse shark, and some barracuda. Then we went to a tranquil area populated with starfish of multiple varieties. Finally we swam at a sandbar where several large rays kept us company. The fresh fruit and guacamole were delicious too. I would highly recommend this experience.”
